has awarded 948.3 MWp of ground-mounted solar capacity in its sixth under the PPE2 multi-year energy procurement program, the Ministry of Ecological Transition said. The round exceeded its 925 MWp target and resulted in an average price of EUR 79.28 (USD 83.62) per MWh, down from EUR 81.90/MWh in the previous tender.

A total of 120 projects were selected, including 166.7 MWp secured by renewable energy producer SA, the largest portion of the awarded capacity. Urbasolar followed with 124.1 MWp, while SA won 68.7 MWp. Germany's AG also announced it won two projects totaling 41 MWp in Occitania.

The tender contributes to France's goal of installing nearly 29 GW of renewable capacity by the end of 2026 through PPE2. “The reduction in average prices demonstrates increasing competitiveness in the solar sector,” a government statement said.

The next tender for ground-mounted solar projects will also target 925 MWp, with applications due by December 20, 2024.
