Poland's Pomeranian province has begun issuing permits to lay a 220-kV export cable for RWE AG's 350-MW F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind project.
The cable will connect the offshore facility to the onshore grid and will include optical fiber routes and associated infrastructure.
The Pomeranian administration's announcement allows central and local government bodies, as well as local landowners and stakeholders, to submit applications, comments, or objections within 14 days.
In February, a site decision was made for the onshore connection, which includes building a substation in Redzikowo, as well as the necessary infrastructure to link to Poland's national grid.
Located over 50 km offshore in the Polish Baltic Sea, Baltic II received a contract for difference (CfD) and an environmental permit in 2021. A service station for the project will be constructed in Ustka.
