has announced that its joint offshore wind projects with Equinor, the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 farms in 's , have issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Poland, accelerating the timeline for delivering essential electrical infrastructure.

The NTP, part of a turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract signed in December 2022, advances the scope of preparatory work by Hitachi.

Under the contract, Hitachi Energy will supply power control systems, telecom networks, high-voltage equipment for offshore substations, and a fully equipped onshore substation for both wind farms.

Each farm will have a capacity of 720 MW, establishing them as two of Poland's largest and most advanced offshore wind projects. With this step, Polenergia noted an increase in required payment guarantees to EUR 28.5 million for Baltyk 2 and EUR 18.2 million for Baltyk 3, from initial amounts of EUR 9.5 million and EUR 8.5 million, respectively.

The Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 wind farms are on track to generate first power in 2027, with full operations targeted by 2028. They join the partners' other major project, the 1.56-GW Baltyk 1 wind farm, located 81 kilometers off the Baltic coast, as part of a larger push to expand Poland's capacity.
