German cleantech unicorn 1Komma5 has announced its acquisition of Zewo Energy, a renewable energy solutions provider based in Deggendorf, Bavaria. This move aims to strengthen 1Komma5's position in Germany's largest market for solar and heat pump technologies.
Philipp Schroeder, CEO of 1Komma5, highlighted the significance of the acquisition in a social media post, noting that Zewo Energy has managed to achieve double-digit million euro revenues and maintain strong profitability, even in a cooling solar market. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2018, Zewo Energy specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage solutions, and PV carports, catering to residential, commercial, and public sector clients. The company currently employs over 50 people.
1Komma5, which reached unicorn status following a €215 million ($233.3 million) financing round in 2023, has been actively expanding its business through various acquisitions, including Spain's Experta Solar, Australian installer Arkana Energy, and Dutch provider Zonduurzaam.
