Welsh Ministers have given the green light to EDF Renewables UK's 85MW Garn Fach wind and battery project, located south of Newtown in Mid Wales.
The development will feature 17 wind turbines and an energy storage facility to help manage the integration of renewable energy into the national grid.
Jon O'Sullivan, Director for Onshore Wind at EDF Renewables UK, expressed satisfaction with the approval, highlighting the project's potential to positively impact both Wales and the local community.
Beyond renewable energy generation, Garn Fach is set to bring job opportunities, new footpaths, cycle tracks, and a visitor car park for improved site accessibility.
A community fund of over £10 million will be established, and EDF has committed to enhancing local biodiversity through habitat restoration efforts.
