Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S has announced a partnership with Team FJ to explore the integration of renewable energy solutions, with a focus on renewable methanol, into the operations of the NASCAR Euro Series.
This collaboration will see European Energy assist NASCAR Europe in introducing renewable methanol as a power source for cars in its European championship.
Additionally, the partnership will explore the use of wind and solar power, along with green hydrogen, to help decarbonize NASCAR Europe's facilities, operations, and value chain.
“NASCAR Europe is committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in motorsports. Partnering with European Energy allows us to take significant strides toward a sustainable future for racing. This collaboration not only aligns with our long-term sustainability goals but also demonstrates our dedication to reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver the high-octane excitement that fans expect,” said Jerome Galpin, President and CEO of Team FJ, and founder and organizer of the NASCAR Euro Series.
European Energy CEO Knud Erik Andersen, in a recent interview, emphasized the company's preference for e-methanol over green ammonia, highlighting its potential as a key renewable fuel for various sectors, including motorsports.
