Construction Begins on Yahaba Biomass Power Station in Japan

Furusato FIC Energy, a joint venture involving , Inabata & Co., and Furusato Mokuzai Logistics K.K., has commenced construction of the Yahaba Power Station in Yahaba-cho, Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

The facility, designed to generate 1,990 kW of electricity, will primarily use forest timber offcuts and unused thinned wood as fuel.

The plant is expected to start operations in January 2026, with the companies emphasizing their cooperation with the local community and related parties in the construction process.

According to the joint venture, this project aims to promote the effective use of forest timber byproducts and contribute to building a recycling-oriented regional society.
