German-Norwegian power storage systems provider Eco Stor GmbH has announced plans to construct a 300-MW/716-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Trossingen, located in southwestern Germany.
Construction is slated to begin in 2027, with the facility expected to become operational in 2028.
The large-scale battery system will be strategically situated near a substation in Trossingen, enhancing local energy storage capabilities. This project follows Eco Stor’s earlier announcement in June regarding a 103.5-MW/238-MWh storage facility in Schuby, northern Germany.
Additionally, Eco Stor is advancing plans for a 103-MW/238-MWh storage system in Bollingstedt, along with two more significant facilities of 300 MW/600 MWh each in Wengerohr and Foerderstedt.
Founded in 2021, Eco Stor currently has projects under development that collectively exceed a total storage capacity of 2 GWh, as indicated on its website.
