German renewable energy developer Energiekontor AG has announced the completion of a 33.6 MW wind park in the Scottish Borders.
The facility, owned by private asset manager Capital Dynamics, was acquired in 2022 and is now fully operational.
The wind park, named Scottish Pines Burn, features seven Nordex N133 turbines, each with a 4.8 MW capacity, an 83-meter hub height, and a 133-meter rotor diameter.
It is expected to generate 92 GWh of electricity annually, providing approximately 8% of the energy needs for UK supermarket chain Sainsbury's, which entered into a power purchase agreement in 2022.
Energiekontor, which developed the project and managed its construction, will oversee the operational management of the facility.
