Greenvolt – Energias Renovaveis SA has officially opened the Central Solar Fotovoltaica de Tabua, a 48-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park located in Coimbra, Portugal.
The project, which features 90,000 PV panels across a 90-hectare area, represents an investment of approximately EUR 40 million (USD 43.6 million).
The facility is expected to generate over 60 GWh of clean energy annually, sufficient to power around 60,000 households.
The generated electricity will be fed into the Portuguese national grid through a 60-kV distribution line connected to the nearby Tabua substation.
This project marks Greenvolt's first large-scale initiative in Portugal, furthering its commitment to developing renewable energy sources.
The company is also involved in large-scale wind and solar projects, battery storage, distributed generation, and biomass power generation in both Portugal and the UK.
