Renewable energy firm BrightNight has secured a USD 260-million tax-equity financing commitment for the 300-MW Box Canyon solar project in Arizona. The financing will be provided by affiliates of JP Morgan and Capital One NA.
The Box Canyon facility, located in Pinal County, is part of a 2-GW portfolio that BrightNight owns with Cordelio Power. The project is set to begin operations in the first half of 2025 and is expected to generate over 900,000 MWh annually.
The solar plant will supply power to the Southwest Public Power Agency (SPPA), marking the agency's largest renewable energy procurement to date.
