Iberdrola SA, the Spanish utility, reported a 13.2% year-on-year increase in renewable electricity generation, producing 18,119 GWh in the third quarter of 2024.

For the first nine months of the year, renewable energy output grew by 7.4% to 63,299 GWh.

The company experienced varied performance across its global markets. In Spain, third-quarter production surged by 34.8% and was up 24.8% for the nine-month period. The UK saw a decline of 8.0% in Q3 but a modest increase of 3.2% for the year to date.

In the US, production dropped by 2.8% in Q3, while growing by just 0.8% over nine months. Mexico’s renewables output fell 7.0% in Q3 but increased 3.6% over the year. Brazil’s production rose slightly by 1.5% in Q3 but decreased by 22.3% over the nine-month period.

The “Rest of the World” markets saw strong growth, with increases of 39.1% in Q3 and 35.3% over the first nine months.
