Renexia and Mingyang have signed a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the 2800MW Med Wind project off the coast of Sicily.
The agreement represents a significant step forward in the development of the floating wind farm, located 80km from the Sicilian shoreline, which will feature Mingyang’s 18.8MW turbines (MySE 18-292).
Mingyang stated that integrated load analysis for the turbines has already commenced, and a prototype is successfully operational.
The collaboration builds on a strategic partnership aimed at establishing a manufacturing facility in Italy to produce cutting-edge wind turbines, further strengthening the synergy between the two companies.
