TotalEnergies to Supply Saint-Gobain with Renewable Electricity under New PPA

TotalEnergies has signed a (PPA) with Saint-Gobain to supply clean electricity to the glass company's French factories. Starting in January 2026, the contract will provide a total of 875 GWh of renewable electricity over five years, sourced from TotalEnergies' wind and farms located in the Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, and Pays de la Loire regions.

Sophie Chevalier, Senior Vice President of Flexible Power & Integration at TotalEnergies, commented: “We are delighted with this new agreement with Saint-Gobain, which demonstrates our shared commitment to decarbonizing industry in France. It also demonstrates our ability to offer electricity solutions in line with our customers' needs, while ensuring the origin of the green electricity supplied.”

This deal adds to a previous contract signed between the two companies in June 2023 for biomethane produced by TotalEnergies from its BioBearn site.

Swaroop Srinath, Energy Purchasing Director for Saint-Gobain, said: “Achieving this ambition requires the decarbonization of our production processes. This contract signed with TotalEnergies allows the Group to take a further step towards this goal with a reliable and continuous supply of renewable electricity for our industrial sites. With this PPA, combined with the others signed by the Group in France, 30% of the electricity in France will come from renewable sources by 2027.”

TotalEnergies' portfolio in France now exceeds 2 GW, which helps avoid the emission of 800,000 tons of CO2 annually. This agreement is part of TotalEnergies' growing list of PPAs with key industrial players, including Air Liquide, , , and Microsoft.
