US-based solar developer Emeren Group Ltd has completed the sale of a 57-megawatt (MW) solar project portfolio in France to Trina Solar Co Ltd, a Chinese solar equipment manufacturer. The portfolio comprises five projects, including one early-stage and one late-stage project sold during the third quarter, as well as three mid-stage projects that will be monetized through milestones before being transferred to Trina.
All solar sites within the portfolio are designed to accommodate battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
“Despite the complexities of the permitting process in France, our team successfully delivered a high-value portfolio that aligns with market demands. This sale highlights the strength of our development efforts and reinforces our commitment to advancing renewable energy in Europe,” stated Emeren's CEO, Yumin Liu.
The acquisition was made by Trina Solar (France) Systems, which is the French subsidiary of Trina Solar's downstream project development division, Trina Solar International System Business Unit (ISBU).
