ZE Energy, a French renewable energy developer, has secured financing for a solar-plus-storage project currently under construction in southwestern France.
The project will have a power generating capacity of 77 MWp and will include a battery energy storage system.
The financing was arranged by asset manager Sienna Investment Managers (IM) through its Predirec ENR 2 fund, according to a press statement released on Thursday.
Located in the Vert commune in the Landes department, the project will feature a utility-scale, ground-mounted solar plant.
The 14.8-MW/33.5-MWh lithium-ion battery system will store energy and support the integration of renewable power into the grid of local utility company Enedis. Commissioning is expected in early 2025.
The project also benefits from a power purchase agreement (PPA) with French telecommunications company Orange SA, securing a long-term customer for the electricity generated.
Sienna IM noted the significance of the project in advancing France's renewable energy goals.
