Saitec Offshore Technologies, in partnership with RWE and Kansai Electric Power, has received the final prototype certification for its DemoSATH floating platform from Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV).
This achievement marks a significant step in advancing the innovative Swinging Around Twin Hull (SATH) technology, which promises to deliver more efficient and sustainable floating wind power.
The DemoSATH2MU platform certification follows a comprehensive evaluation, ensuring its safety, structural integrity, and operational feasibility.
The certification also confirms adherence to BV's NR 572 standard for offshore structures. Key engineering components reviewed included the platform's basic design, mooring systems, and electrical infrastructure.
Irati Larrinaga, Saitec Foundation Package Lead Engineer, highlighted the importance of the certification, noting that it validates over a decade of engineering work and advances the development of SATH technology. Bureau Veritas VP Olivier Cartier added that the DemoSATH platform meets stringent offshore wind requirements, recognizing its innovative design and robust engineering.
