Brockwell Storage and Solar has commenced a statutory consultation process for its East Park Energy project, a solar-plus-storage development in England with a targeted capacity of 400 megawatts (MW).
Located northwest of St Neots, the project aims to integrate a solar farm featuring ground-mounted panels, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and underground cable connections, supported by a 100-MW battery energy storage system (BESS).
The project will span approximately 769 hectares and includes plans for an on-site substation and an underground cable connection to the existing electricity transmission network, linking to National Grid's Eaton Socon substation. The consultation process will remain open until October 29, 2024.
Pending the approval of development consent orders (DCOs) in the summer of 2026, construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 and will take about 30 months to complete.
Brockwell Solar and Storage is a subsidiary of Brockwell Energy, formed after the acquisition of RNA Energy in March 2024.
