German renewables developer and operator Energiequelle GmbH announced on Thursday that it has been awarded contracts for four wind farm projects, totaling a combined capacity of 68.1 MW, in the latest onshore wind energy tender.
The selected projects include a 14-MW wind farm in Bremen, a 22-MW facility in Thuringia, a 4.3-MW plant in Brandenburg, and another 22-MW wind park in Hesse.
Gregor Weber, head of project management at Energiequelle, stated, “Our next step is to prepare for the start of construction in order to connect the parks to the grid as quickly as possible.”
In this tender round, Germany selected a total of 230 projects with a combined capacity of 2,723 MW, marking the first oversubscribed auction in this category in over two years.
Energiequelle has been active in the renewable energy sector since 1997, having constructed over 800 turbines with a total nominal capacity of 1,700 MW.
