Vaisala has launched a new platform, Compass, aimed at improving decision-making processes in the renewable energy sector. The platform is designed to enhance efficiency across the lifecycle of wind and solar projects by providing advanced weather data and analytics.
The Vaisala Compass platform seeks to support developers and operators in overcoming the challenges posed by fluctuating weather conditions. It integrates a wide range of weather solutions, allowing users to assess site conditions, evaluate weather data, secure financing, and optimize operational performance. It is built on over 40 years of historical weather data and combines this with real-time observations to deliver precise, bankable data.
The platform's ability to monitor and manage fleets of weather instruments, including WindCube lidars and AWS810 Solar Edition weather stations, on a single interface further simplifies data access and operations.
“As renewable energy grows and developers and operators strive to maximize the value of their projects, the cutting-edge Compass platform offers a uniquely efficient weather analytics and project management experience,” said Alexis Crama, Vaisala's Vice President for the renewable energy business in Weather and Environment.
Vaisala plans to continue expanding the platform's capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the renewable energy sector.
