Altamaha Green Energy (AGE) has announced a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Georgia Power Company to supply up to 70 MW of sustainable electricity for a duration of 30 years.
The agreement, certified by the Georgia Public Service Commission, marks a significant step in AGE’s efforts to develop a renewable biomass power plant in Georgia.
AGE is a joint venture between Beasley Green Power LLC and Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM), created to assess the feasibility of establishing a 70-MW renewable biomass power facility to meet the energy needs of Georgia.
The biomass power plant will utilize renewable forestry waste, including bark, tree limbs, and other biomass typically discarded, to generate sustainable electricity.
Further details regarding the project will be released as it progresses, promising to contribute to Georgia’s renewable energy landscape.
