The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) has postponed its timetable for selecting bids in the fourth offshore wind solicitation.
In a letter dated August 6, DOER notified the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) of the delay to assess the implications of a recently announced $389 million federal grant aimed at upgrading New England's transmission infrastructure for offshore wind.
Originally scheduled to commence project selection and negotiations on August 7, these processes will now begin on September 6.
The signing of long-term contracts and memorandums of understanding with DOER has been moved from October 9 to November 8.
Additionally, the deadline for submitting long-term contracts for DPU approval has been extended from November 13 to December 18.
