The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Eiffel Investment Group are jointly funding a 60MW solar power plant project in Romania, developed by INVL Renewable Energy Fund 1. The financing amounts to €24.4 million, with each institution contributing €12.2 million.
Liudas Liutkevičius, Managing Partner at INVL Renewable Energy Fund 1, stated, “We greatly appreciate the trust and recognition shown to us by the EBRD and Eiffel Investment Group. The funding not only enables us to accelerate the construction of the solar power plants already in progress in Romania, but also to make a significant contribution to the expansion of Romania's renewable energy generation capacity.”
Located in Dolj County, this solar plant is the second project undertaken by the Fund. Construction is underway for an additional 51MW capacity solar plant in Romania, which is expected to be completed by the end of September this year.
INVL Renewable Energy Fund 1 is investing in a total of eight photovoltaic projects in Romania, with a combined capacity of 451MW. The Fund's overall portfolio includes 483MW of renewable energy projects, which also encompasses solar park developments in Poland with a combined capacity of over 32MW.
The total investment in the solar projects across Romania and Poland is projected to exceed €330 million, with all construction expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
