Rovco has been awarded a contract by Iberdrola to address unexploded ordnance (UXO) at the site of the Windanker offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. This project marks Rovco's inaugural UXO operation in Germany.
The project will employ 3D modeling and advanced inspection technologies to manage both UXO and non-UXO objects. Rovco's team will ensure that confirmed UXOs are safely relocated or disposed of and will conduct thorough inspections of cleared areas to detect any remaining anomalies.

The operation will utilize Rovco's newly chartered multipurpose vessel, MV Patriot. The vessel features a spacious deck, an active heave crane, DP Class 2 station-keeping capabilities, and work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), enhancing site-to-shore communication and data processing efficiency, which in turn accelerates project timelines.
Jesus Rodriguez de Diego Zamorano, Project Director for Windanker, noted, “UXO investigation and clearances made with Rovco's innovative technologies successfully contributed to the progress and safety of the Windanker project.”
