EDP Renewables North America LLC has announced the completion of its 200-megawatt (MW) Brittlebush solar park in Arizona, with the entire output designated for use by Meta Platforms Inc.
The photovoltaic (PV) farm, situated near Coolidge in south-central Arizona, is anticipated to generate enough electricity to power over 32,000 homes annually. The electricity produced will support Meta's data center operations in Mesa, Arizona, advancing the company's clean energy objectives.

The project features the installation of 500,000 bifacial, single-axis tracking PV panels across more than 1,200 acres. It was completed with an investment exceeding USD 250 million (EUR 231 million).
Meta's purchase agreement is facilitated through a contract with Salt River Project (SRP), which aligns with SRP's aim to reduce its carbon footprint by 82% by 2035.
In December of the previous year, Meta also committed to purchasing a significant portion of a 300-MW solar park in Arizona, developed by Denmark's Orsted A/S, for its Mesa data center.
