BP Plans Up to 10 Low-Carbon Hydrogen Projects by 2030

BP aims to develop five to ten low-carbon projects over the next decade as part of its strategy to produce clean fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, CEO Murray Auchincloss announced on Tuesday.

The hydrogen, produced via electrolysis using , will be used to create and to decarbonize BP's refining operations.

“In hydrogen, we will be focused on five to ten construction projects this decade starting with the first two in ,” Auchincloss said.

The company has approved the development of a hydrogen project at its Castellon refinery in Spain and is preparing to proceed with a second project at its Lingen refinery in .
