Spain's Qualitas Energy has been awarded a 39.9-MW wind farm project in Germany's latest onshore wind turbine tender, the company announced on Friday. The project, located in the Rostock district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, was selected from among 2,485 MW of proposals allocated by the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) earlier this month.
The wind farm, to be situated in Dalkendorf, will operate under a 20-year power sales contract secured through the tender. It will feature seven Nordex N149 turbine generators, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW, supplied by the German manufacturer Nordex SE.
Construction is scheduled to commence next spring, with the wind farm expected to be fully operational by mid-2026.
Qualitas Energy, which currently has over 80 wind projects under development in Germany, plans to invest EUR 1.2 billion (USD 1.31 billion) to expand its project development pipeline and achieve a total wind power capacity of 4 GW in the country.
“We are pleased to have secured this significant project and look forward to contributing to Germany's renewable energy goals,” said a Qualitas Energy spokesperson.
