Fred Olsen Renewables has commenced construction on the 50 megawatt (MW) Crystal Rig 4 wind farm in Scotland, marking a significant stride in their renewable energy portfolio.
Located south of Dunbar in East Lothian and north-west of Duns in the Scottish Borders, the 11-turbine site received consent from the Scottish government in 2021 and is scheduled to begin generating electricity in early 2026.

The wind farm, expected to provide over £8 million to communities in East Lothian and the Scottish Borders throughout its operational lifetime, emphasizes local engagement. Main contractor RJ McLeod will oversee site installation, prioritizing local contractors during the procurement process.
Crystal Rig 4 represents Fred Olsen Renewables' first wind farm in Scotland to utilize Vestas turbines, underscoring their technological and environmental commitment.
