Skyborn Renewables, alongside its partners, has achieved significant milestones in the development of the Yunlin offshore wind project off Taiwan, marking it as the country's fourth largest completed offshore wind farm.
The installation of all 80 monopiles and connection of over half of the project's wind turbines to the grid represent substantial progress for the 640 megawatt (MW) capacity project in the Taiwan Strait.
“With an energised capacity of 336MW, the project already stands as Taiwan's fourth largest completed offshore wind farm,” stated a spokesperson from Skyborn Renewables.
The project team is now focused on completing the installation of all 80 turbines by the end of 2024, continuing to collaborate closely with partners to ensure timely completion.
Key achievements include the installation of 80 monopiles, 72 transition pieces, connection of 42 wind turbines to the grid within the project's inner array, and laying of all 12 export cables.
The Yunlin offshore wind farm is set to deliver electricity through two 20-year power purchase agreements, further solidifying its role in Taiwan's renewable energy landscape.
