Iberdrola has successfully issued a EUR 750 million green bond with a coupon of 3.625% and a maturity of ten years.
The issuance drew significant investor interest, surpassing EUR 4 billion from over 220 investors. This strong demand led to a credit spread of 83 basis points over the benchmark, according to the Spanish utility.
Proceeds from the bond will fund eligible green projects under Iberdrola's Green Financing Framework. The company highlighted participation from nine banks in the placement, including BBVA, Bank of America, HSBC, and others.
Iberdrola emphasized that the bond issuance strengthens its liquidity position ahead of anticipated market volatility post-summer.
Recent financial activities include a multi-million-euro green bond in Swiss francs and a EUR 700 million hybrid bond issuance, aligning with the utility's financing goals for the year.
