Danish engineering firm Ramboll has secured the contract to design the foundations for Skyborn Renewables' Gennaker Offshore Wind Park in the German Baltic Sea, the companies announced on Thursday.
Ramboll will develop both the basic and detailed designs for 63 monopile foundations, supporting 15MW-class turbines at the offshore wind park. The project aims to address unique geotechnical challenges specific to the Baltic Sea, while optimizing installation efficiency.
“Our team is excited to contribute our design expertise to Gennaker, marking another significant project in the region following our work on Arkona Becken, Baltic Eagle, and Windanker,” said Tim Fischer, Global Executive Director Wind at Ramboll.
Daniel Lorenz, Skyborn's Project Director, emphasized the importance of Ramboll's experience in optimizing monopile designs for Baltic Sea conditions, crucial for achieving project goals amidst Germany's renewable energy targets.
