French renewable power producer Akuo has commenced a crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising EUR 1 million (USD 1.1 million) to finance operations for a 4-MWp solar complex in Greece.
The initiative, facilitated through the AkuoCoop by Lendosphere portal in partnership with Paris-based Lendosphere, began on Wednesday and is open to all European citizens. Investors can participate with a minimum amount of EUR 100.
Located near the town of Larissa in the Thessaly region of northern Greece, the solar complex spans 8 hectares (20 acres) and encompasses four photovoltaic (PV) plants: Tsairia, Zappeio 1024, Zappeio 1008, and Foniades.
Commissioned last year, these plants are expected to collectively generate approximately 6.3 GWh annually, equivalent to the electricity demand of about 570 households.
The crowdfunding initiative supports Akuo's broader strategy to deploy 500 MW of PV capacity in Thessaly, contributing to Greece's target of increasing renewable energy's share in the national energy mix to over 80% by 2030.
