Alpiq to Sell 5.5 MWp Rooftop Solar Portfolio to Gefiswiss Energy Transition Fund

Swiss power producer and energy service provider Alpiq has announced its decision to divest from the rooftop photovoltaic (PV) business, opting to sell its 5.5-megawatt peak (MWp) portfolio of seven rooftop installations in .

The buyer, PS Panneaux Solaires SA, an entity of , will acquire the portfolio, which is located across the cantons of Fribourg, Solothurn, and Vaud. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The rooftop installations currently generate an average of 5.6 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean annually.

“With this divestment, Alpiq aims to refocus on flexibility solutions for integrating renewable energies and expanding capacities, along with winter electricity production,” Alpiq stated in a released statement.
