EDPR NA Acquires 20 MW of Community Solar Projects in Illinois

EDPR NA Distributed Generation LLC, a subsidiary of EDP Renewables North America LLC, has finalized the of a 20-MW portfolio of community projects in from developer LLC. The transaction, disclosed on Monday, expands EDPR NA's footprint in distributed generation solar across the region.

“The acquisition includes four projects currently in development,” stated EDPR NA without disclosing financial details.

Upon completion, these photovoltaic (PV) projects are expected to enhance EDPR NA's existing distributed generation portfolio, which currently totals 310 MWp across 538 active sites. Together, the new projects will generate approximately 42 GWh of annually, sufficient to power over 5,000 homes in Illinois.

In addition to its distributed generation assets, EDPR NA boasts a robust portfolio including over 1.4 GW of operational utility-scale PV parks and more than 8 GW of wind farms across North America.
