RheinEnergie AG, a German energy supplier, and local solar developer Goldbeck Solar GmbH have inaugurated a 32-MWp solar park, enhanced with storage capabilities, in the northern federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Situated near the Mueritz airfield in the communities of Laerz and Rechlin, the solar park is outfitted with 56,800 bifacial Canadian Solar modules, poised to generate ample clean power to satisfy the energy demands of approximately 10,000 households. Approximately 20 MWp of the total capacity benefits from subsidies under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
Spanning over 30 hectares, the site is bolstered by a 7-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) provided by INTILION, enhancing its resilience and grid stability.
While no direct quotes were provided in the original article, the collaboration between RheinEnergie and Goldbeck Solar signifies a significant stride towards advancing renewable energy infrastructure and sustainable power generation in Germany.
