Brazilian power utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia, commonly known as Copel, has announced the commissioning of a 6.7-MWp park in Parana state.

This (PV) plant, situated in the Sarandi municipality, is projected to generate 13.7 GWh per year at peak performance, fulfilling the energy needs of approximately 200 of the utility's clients.

Spanning an area of 11 hectares (27.2 acres), the solar facility is comprised of 9,720 PV panels. Copel's introduction of this PV park is aligned with its innovative business model, dubbed Copel Solar.

Under this initiative, customers can acquire credits from the plant's output, enabling them to offset consumption from their bill.

Launched in late 2023, Copel Solar is now open for subscription by commercial customers within group B, specifically those connected to low voltage.
