Naturgy Initiates Construction of 300-MWp Solar Farm in Spain’s Extremadura Region

Spanish utility Energy Group SA has announced the commencement of construction for a 300-MWp farm in the region of western .

Dubbed Campo de Aranuelo, the solar photovoltaic facility will represent Naturgy's largest solar project in Spain. The company disclosed that it is investing over EUR 150 million (USD 162.6 million) in the development of the project.

Spanning an area of 290 hectares (31.2 million square feet) in Caceres province, the Campo de Aranuelo solar farm is slated to become operational by 2026.

Upon completion, the plant is projected to generate approximately 515 GWh of electricity annually.

Naturgy currently operates two wind farms and two solar farms in Extremadura. In addition to the Campo de Aranuelo project, the company is concurrently constructing three other solar projects in the region, collectively adding 150 MW of capacity.
