Argentina's Grupo Princz IPASA, a leading manufacturer and supplier of PVC compounds and bioplasticisers, has made a significant move towards sustainability by securing a renewable energy supply for its operations in the country.
The announcement came following a 15-year renewable power supply agreement signed with Argentine power company Genneia. Facilitated through Argentina's MATER marketplace for large electricity consumers, the power purchase agreement (PPA) became effective on May 1, 2024.
Under the terms of the agreement, Genneia will supply a mix of wind and solar energy sourced from its own assets, totaling 1,004 megawatts of operational capacity in Argentina.
According to Genneia, this PPA will allow Grupo Princz IPASA to fulfill 60% of its energy requirements with renewable energy, marking a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices.
