Singapore-based Vena Energy has announced the signing of a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy Ltd for the output of a 31.65-megawatt photovoltaic (PV) plant.
Located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, the Maibara Solar Project, currently under construction, is anticipated to generate sufficient clean energy to fulfill the annual electricity needs of approximately 8,560 households.
Vena Energy highlighted that the Maibara Solar project will play a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, offsetting around 18,600 tonnes of emissions annually, and conserving up to 31 million liters of water per year.
Raul Rienda, Head of Japan at Vena Energy, expressed the company's commitment to actively participating in the corporate PPA market to facilitate corporate decarbonization efforts.
