Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has sealed a significant power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN Ltd, a prominent Indian state-owned generation and transmission entity, to advance a pioneering 460-MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) initiative employing diverse technologies.
Securing victory in SJVN's FDRE tender, TPREL disclosed the strategic integration of solar, wind, and battery storage technologies within the project framework. This comprehensive approach aims at ensuring optimal energy dispatch during peak hours and facilitating round-the-clock power supply, thus aligning with the evolving needs of distribution companies to fulfill their renewable purchase and energy storage obligations.
Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of TPREL, expressed enthusiasm regarding the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with SJVN Limited will witness the deployment of best-in-class sustainable energy solutions from TPREL. It will go a long way in meeting the green energy objectives of SJVN Limited.”
Upon commissioning, the multifaceted plant is anticipated to generate approximately 3,000 million units of power, contributing significantly to the renewable energy landscape. With this latest addition, TPREL has augmented its operational and under-development renewables capacity to an impressive 9,421 MW, further solidifying its position in the renewable energy sector. The PPA capacity now stands at an impressive 7,978 MW, showcasing TPREL's commitment to sustainable energy initiatives.
