Finnish clean energy solutions provider Meriaura Energy Ltd has clinched a significant contract with a German utility, signaling a key development in the realm of sustainable energy infrastructure. The deal entails the construction of a solar thermal field spanning approximately 12,000 square meters (129,167 sq ft) and thermal storage infrastructure to cater to the district heating network in the city of Luebeck.
Formerly recognized as Savosolar, the company revealed on Thursday the signing of a contract valued at nearly EUR 5 million (USD 5.4m) with Luebeck Energie GmbH for the turnkey delivery of the plant.
“In line with the agreement, execution of the project will commence immediately. However, construction works in Germany can only commence following the receipt of a building permit by the utility,” Meriaura Energy stated.
Despite regulatory considerations, Meriaura Energy remains optimistic about the timeline, anticipating the completion of the plant's construction in early 2025.
