In line with its strategic vision, Iberdrola is making significant strides in divesting non-core assets, as evidenced by its recent agreement with Premier Energy Group. The Spanish energy giant has finalized a deal to sell its renewables assets in Romania for €88 million.
Premier Energy Group, operating through its Romanian subsidiary, Premier Renewable Invest Co SRL, has acquired 100% ownership of Eolica Dobrogea One, a wind energy company previously under Iberdrola's stewardship.
With this transaction, encompassing assets with a collective capacity of 80MW, Iberdrola bids farewell to its presence in Romania's energy landscape. Regulatory approvals customary for such transactions in the country stand as the final hurdle before the sale's completion.
This divestment aligns seamlessly with Iberdrola's broader Strategic Plan unveiled on March 21, as articulated by Iberdrola London. Within this plan, the company has set an ambitious target of €12.2 billion in asset rotation for the period spanning 2024 to 2026.
