CBED has forged a significant partnership with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, signing a contract to deploy the new Service Operation Vessel (SOV) Wind Creation for an offshore wind farm commissioning project in the Netherlands, marking a milestone in renewable energy logistics.
The deployment of Wind Creation, CBED's latest addition to its fleet, underscores the company's commitment to advancing offshore wind projects while ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
The project, slated to commence at the end of Q2 2024 and extend throughout the year, will secure full activity for Wind Creation until Q1 2025, according to CBED. With this project, all three vessels in CBED's fleet will be in full operation for the remainder of the year, further solidifying the company's position as a key player in offshore wind logistics.
Daniel Alon, General Manager of CBED, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, stating, “The installation of this new Uptime gangway is an important factor in setting CBED apart from our competitors in the market.” Alon emphasized the operational advantages of Wind Creation's new Uptime gangway, enhancing the vessel's capability to connect to transition pieces at varying levels.
Alon expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, affirming CBED's commitment to supporting the development of clean energy initiatives.
During the project, CBED will utilize the port of Ijmuiden, the Netherlands, as a base port for crew changes and loading of fresh supplies, further enhancing operational efficiency and logistical support for the offshore wind commissioning project.
