Singapore-based renewables developer Gurin Energy has announced its final investment decision (FID) on a 39-MWp solar project in the Philippines, marking a significant step forward in the company's renewable energy endeavors.
Named “Capas,” the ground-mounted solar project secured a 40-hectare (98.8 acres) site through a 25-year lease agreement with the Philippines' undefineds Conversion and Development Authority. Situated in the municipality of Capas in Tarlac province, the solar farm is poised to contribute to the region's renewable energy infrastructure.
Capas represents Gurin Energy's second solar venture in the Philippines, complementing the ongoing construction of the 75-MW Palauig solar plant in Zambales province.
According to Gurin Energy, the company boasts a robust pipeline of projects in the Philippines, totaling 1 GW in capacity. Furthermore, its development portfolio extends across various stages in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines, amounting to a cumulative capacity of 7 GW.
