Stellantis, the automaker behind brands like Citroen, Fiat, and Peugeot, has announced a significant investment of $100 million to acquire a 49.5% stake in 360 Energy Solar, a key player in Argentina's solar power sector. This move reflects Stellantis' commitment to enhancing the energy efficiency and sustainability of its operations.
The partnership with 360 Energy Solar will focus on developing additional solar plants, installing large-scale solar storage systems, and exploring hydrogen energy production. These initiatives aim to bolster renewable energy usage at Stellantis' manufacturing facilities, including the Ferreyra and El Palomar plants located in the provinces of Cordoba and Buenos Aires.
360 Energy Solar currently operates six photovoltaic plants across San Juan, Catamarca, and La Rioja provinces, with a total installed capacity exceeding 250 megawatts.
