J-POWER Initiates Construction of 1.99-MW Solar Power Plant in Hyogo Prefecture

Japanese electric utility has announced the commencement of construction for a 1.99-MW power plant in Hyogo prefecture. The project, named the Himeji Oshio Solar Power Station, is being developed by J-POWER's wholly owned subsidiary, J-Solar Co Ltd.

Commercial operations for the Himeji Oshio Solar Power Station are scheduled to begin in October 2024.

J-Solar Co Ltd, established in August 2023, manages all of the group's solar power generation operations, according to J-POWER.

Currently, J-POWER's solar power operations include the Himeji Oshio project and the 29.9-MW Kitakyushu Hibikinada Solar Power Station, which is under construction in Fukuoka prefecture.

The company is actively pursuing carbon neutrality through its projects, aligning with the goals outlined in J-POWER BLUE MISSION 2050.
