French renewable energy giant Neoen SA has announced the signing of two significant corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) totaling approximately 14 MW each in the Nordics, marking another milestone in its expansion in the region.
In a press release today, Neoen revealed the details of these agreements, highlighting a 10-year PPA with digital infrastructure leader Equinix. Under this deal, Equinix will procure 25% of the output, equivalent to 14 MW, from the Storbrannkullen wind farm located in Sweden.

Commencing in mid-2024, this contract supplements an existing agreement with Coveris, consolidating Neoen's commitment to provide sustainable energy solutions to corporate partners. This marks the fourth PPA between Neoen and Equinix, further solidifying their collaborative efforts towards renewable energy adoption.
Additionally, Neoen disclosed another 10-year PPA, also commencing in mid-2024, with Molnlycke Health Care for 13 MW of the output from the 404-MW Mutkalampi wind farm situated in Finland. Notably, this wind farm boasts PPAs with several prominent entities including Google, Heineken, Nobian, Philips, and Signify, with a total of 65% of its generation now contracted.
These latest agreements, finalized at the close of 2023, signify Neoen's expanding presence in the Nordic renewable energy market, bringing its PPA count in the region to 13, covering approximately 630 MW of capacity.

Moreover, Neoen proudly announced that it has surpassed the 1-gigawatt (GW) mark for renewable energy projects either operational or under construction in the Nordics. The exact figure stands at an impressive 1,076 MW, with 773 MW allocated in Finland, including the largest wind park in the country, Mutkalampi, and over 303 MW in Sweden, featuring the country's largest solar power installation, the 100-MWp Hultsfred.
In addition to its renewable energy projects, Neoen disclosed its significant investment in energy storage solutions in the Nordic region, with 232 MW/289 MWh of battery capacity either operational or under construction.
