Sif, a manufacturer in offshore wind solutions, has officially inked the deal to supply 100 monopiles for Equinor and Polenergia's joint venture, powering the ambitious Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind projects.
Planned for the Polish exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea, these two wind farms, comprising 50 units each, are poised to deliver a combined capacity of 1.44GW. Positioned approximately 37 and 22 kilometers from the shoreline at the level of Łeba, they signify a significant stride towards Poland's renewable energy goals.

Commencing in the second quarter of 2025 and slated for completion in the first quarter of 2026, the manufacturing of the monopiles is set to pave the way for the commissioning of the wind farms by 2027. With the first energy anticipated to be generated within three years, the commercial phase of operation is earmarked for 2028.
Sif's order book sees a notable increase, with 105 Kton remeasured to 120 Kton, transitioning from exclusive negotiations to firm contracts, indicative of the company's commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions forward.

We look forward to cooperating with Equinor and Polenergia and to making these projects a success as ones of the first projects in our new manufacturing set-up.”
