US-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor Radiance Solar has joined forces with solar provider Pivot Energy to undertake the deployment of 19 MW of community solar projects in Illinois this year.
The partnership aims to concentrate on the development of five facilities anticipated to be finalized within the year, catering to the energy requirements of approximately 3,800 households annually upon reaching operational status. As outlined in a statement released on Monday, Pivot Energy retains ownership of the solar plants, while Radiance Solar assumes the role of the EPC partner.
Radiance Solar, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, has already successfully executed over 10 community solar projects in Illinois. Notably, the company is under the ownership of Bravo Infrastructure Group LLC (BIG).
Meanwhile, Pivot Energy, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, specializes in the development, financing, construction, ownership, and management of solar and energy storage projects. In a significant development announced in December, the company disclosed plans to spearhead the development of six additional community solar projects in Illinois, collectively amounting to 33 MW DC.
This initiative is conducted in collaboration with Tapestry Inc., the owner of various accessories and lifestyle brands, which has committed to procuring the Impact Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) generated by the projects for a duration of 15 years.
