These projects aim to provide benefits to residents without direct access to solar savings, offering community solar subscribers a minimum discount of 15% on their utility bills throughout their subscription period.

The recent opening of the 225 MW capacity block for development in 2024, which began on November 15, 2023, marked the program's inaugural opportunity for developers to participate in the Community Solar Energy Program. Despite facing a high demand, with over 300 applications received—twice the available capacity—SolarKal managed an exceptional acceptance rate of 93% for its projects, surpassing the general acceptance rate of less than 50%.

Drawing upon their extensive expertise from overseeing 44 completed and active commercial solar projects in New Jersey, SolarKal not only secured success for their clients but also facilitated community solar achievements across various real estate portfolios. Yaniv Kalish, CEO of SolarKal, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes and reiterated the company's commitment to supporting others interested in engaging with the CSEP program.

While the PSE&G community solar block has reached its capacity, opportunities persist in the service areas of Jersey Central Power & Light, Atlantic City Company, and Rockland Electric Company, which have reopened for additional applications. SolarKal is available to assist interested parties through the application process, emphasizing the significance of early planning and thorough preparation for upcoming capacity blocks in the New Jersey CSEP program.
